By selling Girl Scout products to friends and family, you can develop valuable life skills like goal setting, money management, people skills, business ethics and teamwork – while you have fun! The Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England sponsors two product sales each year. All Girl Scouts – from Daisies to Ambassadors – can participate. Only troops that have participated in both product sales can do any additional fundraising.
2015-2016 GIRL SCOUT COOKIE SELLER TOOLKIT!
Each year GSSNE selects a local organization to be the recipient of our annual Cookie Sale Community Service project. Girls can choose to donate a portion of their troop cookie sale proceeds to the organization. It's a great way for the girls to give back to our community! This year, we have chosen The Katie DeCubellis Memorial Foundation.
The mission of The Katie DeCubellis Memorial Foundation is to promote youth leadership, to support education and to generate public awareness of the dangers of drunk driving and substance abuse. Katie was killed by a drunk driver at the age of 13. She was a Girl Scout who believed in helping others and making the world a better place. By educating the community about the dangers of drunk driving, Katie's legacy can live on.
Did you know that next year is the 100 Anniversary of the Girl Scout Cookie! We are collecting cookie stories as a way of celebrating this incredible legacy of everyone's favorite cookies.
In 1917, the first cookie story is where it all began. The sale of these yummy treats was a way to finance troop activities five years after Juliette Low founded the Girl Scouts. It was the Mistletoe Troop in Muskogee, OK who baked cookies in the high school cafeteria as a service project.
And as they say, the rest is delicious history!
When you buy Girl Scout cookies, you aren't just buying cookies - you are supporting girls in your community. Cookie sales help us work on service projects, travel and make the world a better place for everyone.
Through GSSNE's Cookie Share Program, Girl Scouts can do even more. And you can help! You can purchase cookies and GSSNE will donate the boxes you buy to the military right here in our community.
Check back for a link making it possible to donate to the cookie share purchases for our military!
This sale of magazine subscriptions and renewals and high quality nuts and candies is held each September/October. The nuts and candy arrive just in time for Thanksgiving and make great holiday gifts, hostess gifts and teacher “thank you” gifts. By holding a product sale early in the troop year, troops can raise the funds they need for community service projects or field trips.
