Adult Achievement Awards

Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England partners with 2,600 trained, dedicated and wonderful adult volunteers who share their time and talent with the girls in our council.

Of course, a smile, a verbal “thank you” or a quick note are terrific ways to let your leader or service team member know you care. But there are also many formal ways to recognize an adult volunteer's achievements.

Awards given out at the Annual Meeting are:

  • Appreciation Pin: Outstanding service that benefits one or more service units and contributes to council goals.
  • Honor Pin: Outstanding service that benefits two or more service units, etc.
  • Thanks Badge: Truly outstanding service that benefits the entire council or the GS organization as a whole. Service is so signficant that no other award would be appropriate.
  • Kit Hammett Award: Service exceeds the expectations for the positions held and benefits one or more service units within the council jurisdiction and contributes to the council's goals and objectives.
  • Mira Hoffman Award: Awarded in recognition of outstanding contributions to the work of the council and exemplifies the finest spirit of Girl Scouting.

Volunteer Years of Service

GSRI Girl Scout VolunteerBe Recognized for Your Years in Girl Scouts!

The Volunteer Years of Service Pin recognizes an adult member registered with GSUSA for her/his years of active volunteer service in 5-year increments. Volunteers with 15 years and more of active volunteer service will be recognized at the annual meeting in May. Any volunteer with 5 or 10 years of active service will be recognized in the individual’s community.

Eligible volunteers need to fill out a Volunteer Years of Service Pin Application Form.

Milestones of Membership

In recognition of your total number of membership years, you can purchase membership numeral guards from the Girl Scout Shop. The numerals show the number of years (not necessarily continuous or consecutive) of registered membership, both as a girl and an adult, in any GSRI Recognition AwardGirl Scout/Girl Guide organization. Numeral guards are attached to your official Girl Scout membership pin. Numeral guards are available in increments of 5 years. Members with 50+ years will be recognized at the annual meeting in May.
