Support Our Camps

Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England is fortunate to own some beautiful properties in Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts, which we maintain for the use of the girls in our council, girls from other councils, our alumnae and the general public. Throughout the year and especially during the summer, girls enjoy the natural beauty of places like Camp Hoffman, Camp Cookie, Camp Promising Acres and Camp Rocky Farm. Places where generations of women – campers and camp counselors alike – have made new friends, created memories, developed a deep and abiding love of nature, and learned how to be women of courage, confidence and character.

Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England is also fortunate to have the support of generous organizations like The Champlin Foundations. The Champlin Foundations has a long history of providing the funds we need to make major capital improvements at our camps. Recently, The Champlin Foundations provided a grant for a brand new, long-lasting dock at Camp Hoffman!

Last summer, we installed a deluxe high/low ropes challenge course at Camp Hoffman, also courtesy of The Champlin Foundations.

Additionally, individuals whose lives have been touched by Girl Scout camp have contributed to the maintenance of properties, the purchase of boats and canoes, and the replacement of archery equipment. During our capital campaign for Camp Hoffman, friends of Girl Scouting made significant contributions that helped create important new facilities for the girls like the Barbara W. French Dining Hall.GSRI

These are just a few of the ways that the community of Girl Scouts – and the greater community – has come together to preserve and enhance our camp properties. Of course, we still have a wish list of capital improvements, maintenance projects and equipment purchases we’d like to make in order to provide the best possible outdoors experience for the girls in our community.
